Ready to move from DIY to global domination? A new consultant, Megan Cullen, added to the stable of about 30 advisors at the Small Business Development Center is experienced in international trade and marketing and can advise businesses on how to reach the next level. Cullen is an international sales and marketing manager at Goleta’s Soilmoisture Equipment Corporation, which makes subsurface water monitoring devices that are sold globally, and has more than 40 years experience.

In Santa Barbara, the Small Business Development Center works through the S.B. City College’s Scheinfeld Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation, itself a magnet for academics, entrepreneurship, internships, and new venture challenge matches. The Development Center is funded by the federal Small Business Administration, and its programs and consultants are available free of charge. In return, businesses must report back on their successes in job creation, increased sales, and capital investment. More information can be found at www.SBCountySBCD.org, by emailing info@sbcountysbdc.org, or calling (805) 892-3643.
