I am voting for Joan Hartmann in the upcoming 3rd District supervisorial race because she has the experience working within the county structure to bring results for her constituents.

When asked to serve as the Planning Commissioner by Supervisor Doreen Farr, Hartmann stepped into this position with grace and a sense of fairness. During her years as Planning Commissioner, Hartmann impressed both staff and the public with her research skills, ability to grasp the nuances of proposed projects, and commitment to achieve good outcomes for both applicants and the public good.

Since starting her campaign, Hartmann has met almost daily with individuals and groups throughout the district, from Goleta to Guadalupe She has listened to residents of Los Alamos, the Santa Ynez Valley, and the Gaviota Coast who have concerns about such diverse issues as water, the economy and jobs, public safety, social services, open space, roads, and agriculture.

Retiring Supervisor Farr leaves a legacy of excellent constituent service and intelligent leadership that has helped achieve the county’s return to fiscal stability and responsive service . Candidate Hartmann will continue to build on this legacy and will keep our county moving in the right direction.
