I find it interesting that every Democrat who runs for Congress in our district uses the political rhetoric that they will be ‘a bi-partisan or an independent voice when they get to Washington’.

We fell for it once again when we elected Salud Carbajal. I just saw a statistic that he has voted with Nancy Pelosi over 98 percent of the time while he has been in Congress. When did compromise become such an ugly word? We need to send leaders to Washington who are willing to get things done for us on the South Coast, not just be puppets who will vote lock step with their party.

We have urgent issues that need to be addressed in our district such as water shortage and infrastructure failures – these are issues that matter to us and I want to see some results.

2018 is right around the corner and I have to ask you: do you want someone in Washington who’s fighting for the constituents at home or some partisan hack who was elected to fulfill one party’s agenda?
