A motorcycle-versus-truck accident in Carpinteria killed a 43-year-old man from Ojai on Friday at 6 a.m. Richard Cramer was riding his BMW R 1200 RS down highway 150 approaching the 101 when he and a Ford pickup truck entered the intersection at Via Real at the same time, the Sheriff’s Office stated. The Ford 150 was turning left onto Via Real, and the two collided. Cramer was pronounced dead at the scene, though paramedics tried to save him. A 47-year-old man from Oxnard was behind the wheel and cooperated with investigators; a possible factor of drugs or alcohol is being investigated. The Sheriff’s Office requests public help for information on the collision. Call Deputy John DeLeon at (805) 961-7519, or email him at jad3116@sbsheriff.org.
