JUNIOR HIGH AND HIGH SCHOOL TEACHERS

June 20- August 15, 2022

Work at UCSB with faculty, advanced undergraduates, graduate students, and other teachers. Help develop inquiry-based investigations for Junior High and High School classes that cover topics relevant to your curriculum and NGSS. Select from two-week segments covering physics, biology, chemistry, or mathematics. Experimental techniques include recombinant DNA, microbiology, enzyme assays, biosensors, and mathematical modeling. Spend 40 hours over a two-week period (M-F, either 8:30-1:00 or 1:00-5:00) plus five hours of follow-up.

Pay is $3000 for the 45-hour commitment FOR TEACHERS IN JUNIOR HIGH AND HIGH SCHOOL

SciTrek is UCSB’s largest outreach, helping thousands of local elementary and secondary students better understand how science works.

This summer, we are offering an exciting opportunity for junior and high school students to collaborate in a laboratory setting with both UCSB undergraduate students and educators across the disciplines of Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, and Physics.

The program will develop critical thinking skills, build your resume, and enhance your understanding of scientific methods, all while having FUN!
