Art From Scrap
Elena Gray-Blanc

Art From Scrap (AFS) is a S.B.-based collective that promotes environmentally sustainable art by creating unique and whimsical projects out of reused and recycled materials. This winter, the organization will host a series of fun, family-friendly art workshops led by some of its guest artists, who will help creative minds of all ages and abilities make masterpieces out of malarkey. The following is a lineup of just a few of AFS’s upcoming classes:

Flowers from Mars and Other Alien Botany: Led by instructor Mary Price (Sat., Jan. 22)

Origami Creations, Water Bombs, and More! Led by instructor Chloe Gray (Sat., Jan. 29)

Year of the Rabbit: Led by instructor Judy Nilsen (Sat., Feb. 5)

All workshops run from 10 a.m.-noon. at AFS’s headquarters (302 E. Cota St.). Fees are $8/class; children under 5 must be accompanied by an adult. Call 884-0459 for more info.
