Valley Brewers Opens in Solvang, CA

Home brewers are rejoicing in Santa Barbara County. Finally there is a local store to purchase home brew supplies. The purchasing possibilities don’t stop with beer. Home wine makers and cheese makers can also pick up ingredients and equipment at Valley Brewers in Solvang, CA.

Upon first glance, Valley Brewers looks like a beer and wine focused gift shop with gifts, books and kits on sale. Continue downstairs and find a large open room with shelves of wine and beer kits, brewing ingredients, kettles, burners, bottling equipment, a fridge for yeast and hops and much more. Around the corner is a freezer room dedicated to hops and cheese cultures.

If you’re new to home brewing, take advantage of owners Chris Kelly and Sandy Harrison’s vast knowledge in the field. Chris is an experienced home brewer who can walk you through the basics or help seasoned home brewers choose the right ingredients for a custom recipe. The owners welcome requests from customers who are looking for specific items.

In addition to selling supplies, Valley Brewers is home to the Valley Brewers Home Brew Club. Local home brewers meet once a month to share their brews and swap advice on problems they may encounter with their latest batch.

Valley Brewers is open Monday through Saturday from 10am to 6pm, Sunday from 10am to 5pm and closed on Tuesdays. They are located at 515 Fourth Place in Solvang, CA around the corner from four Santa Ynez Valley beer tasting venues.
