Ojai Raptor Center
Lauren Gaylord

Some of the most spectacular birds on the planet are raptors. To see an eagle soar through the air or a red-tailed hawk perched on a fence post or a stealthy owl swoop by in the night is an awesome experience. They are powerful and beautiful, but sometimes they need help. One area nonprofit that has taken birds of prey under its wing is the Ojai Raptor Center. The ORC takes in injured and orphan raptors with the goal of rehabilitating and releasing them back into the wild. Currently, the ORC is vying for national grants of up to $250,000 from Chase Community Giving. To help the center win a grant, they need your vote. Go to facebook.com/chasecommunitygiving or chasegiving.com. For more info on the Ojai Raptor Center, call (805) 649-6884; email ojairaptorcenter@gmail.com; or visit ojairaptorcenter.org.
