A wet weather forecast and less than ideal predicted surf conditions has the Rincon Classic once again on hold this weekend. Contest director Chris Keet announced the decision to postpone the 30th Annual incarnation of the locals-only competition Thursday afternoon.

“Due to rain and average surf we are electing to roll to the next waiting weekend of February 2nd and 3rd,” explained Keet, before adding hopefully, “Pray for consistent 280-degree, head-high, and overhead swell with light winds and sunny weather!”

The Classic has been on call every weekend since the beginning of January but has been unable to run thanks to uninspiring surf conditions. The waiting period for the contest continues until the end of February. According to Keet, he will make a decision about next weekend by Wednesday, January 30.
