County officials and the consultant group that conducted the environmental review of Goleta Beach’s 1,200-foot rock wall were recently lauded by state leaders for the thorough study that found the rocks would best protect the park. In March 2014, after years of debate, the Board of Supervisors asked the California Coastal Commission to let the wall remain. The commission will likely decide on a final plan at its May meeting in Santa Barbara.
