The City Council approved plans this week to double the number of Mesa neighborhood streets included in a permit program designed to keep SBCC students from monopolizing roadside off-campus parking. Residents of the 400 and 500 blocks of La Marina Terrace petitioned City Hall to be part of the program, garnering support from 86 percent of the residents. Accordingly, eight street signs will be posted on those two blocks, notifying motorists that only permitted cars can park there.
