Dad was always happiest when he was planning or building something.

Describing himself as an “Okie”, in the 1920’s his family moved from the Dust Bowl to Texas, west to Arizona and eventually Bakersfield, CA. During the Great Depression he worked on construction sites and oil rigs in California and Alaska.

As a member of the “Greatest Generation” he served in the Army in WWII , seeing action on the European and Pacific fronts. For his bravery he was awarded 4 medals, including a Bronze Star.

After the War he married and settled in Chandler, Arizona, raising a large family and building a dairy operation which continues to this day. When they moved to Santa Barbara he bought a house in the path of construction of San Marcos Pass Highway 154, moving the building from its foundation to a lot he had purchased nearby. He did similar remodelings and refurbishings over the years, including his residence in Oceano.

His friends and family will remember and miss him.
No formal services are planned at this time. Arrangements will be handled by the Neptune Society.
