Nancy Ruth Trenary was born to Fred and Bertha Buse in 1934. She started her life at her parent’s farm in Pocahontas Iowa. They moved into town with her two sisters, Carol (Buse) Koluncich and Joanne (Buse) Medvedev. Nancy met her husband Rodger Trenary, the boy next door, while attending high school. After high school she went to nursing school in Des Moines, Iowa. Rodger and Nancy came to California for their honeymoon and decided to stay.

Nancy was a nurse, wife, mother and grandmother. She moved to Santa Barbara with her family in 1970 where she raised her two children, Callie and Cliff. She enjoyed helping with her grandchildren. She watched her grandchildren Nathanial and Karl Bowdish grow up. Nancy loved to read, sew, knit, make blankets and do cross-stitch. She was a great home keeper and hostess. Her husband is retired and was manager with New York Life for many years in Santa Barbara and in Phoenix Arizona. They hosted many company parties together.

She died at her Santa Barbara home on December 1st 2010 after struggling with Alzheimer’s disease for many years. Her loving husband survives her after 55 years of marriage.
