Cameron “Cam” James Weatherford
May 25, 1989- July 21,2011
Cameron (Cam) Weatherford was a very talented DJ and music artist whose wonderful life was filled with love, Music and health. Cam loved every one of his 8,088 days spent in his life.
He was born in Santa Barbara and moved to the beautiful Santa Ynez valley in 1995 where he attended Ballard Elementary School. Los Olivos Middle School and Santa Ynez High School. In 2007, he graduated from Olive Grove Charter School at the top of his class.
During his first nine years, Cameron was the baby brother to his three older sisters Aprille, Leia and Clarice. in 1998 he was blessed to become the big brother to Natalie and Spencer.
Cam’s wonderful mother, Holly, was the center pole of the Weatherford family. The family was always together: ski trips to the heavenly, camping trips to the Strawberry music festival, Yosemite, sierras, Big Sur, vacations in Kauai, Mexico and Canada.
His happiest times were spent with Natalie, Spencer and Jaime’s 2 year old sister Halle. Jaime was the love of his life.
He was very close to his dad Jay, who coached him in many sports. He was an exceptional athlete. He loved nature and spent many days backpacking with his dad. Cameron James Weatherford spent his last day hiking in the Santa Barbara mountains with Natalie and Spencer.
In his younger years, he was quite the comedian. At the age 13, music became his passion and mixing records filled his last nine years in this universe. His music style was heavily influenced by Doc Martin, Leia and Clarice, Tommy and Josh, Corbin and Gregory. After his early years as a DJ, he expanded his music into nature by headlining “Underground Souls” outdoor parties, at beaches and atop mountains. If it was an all night party, you could count on Cameron to “bring up the sun”. Lately he’s been playing at clubs in Los Angeles, Santa Barbara, and San Francisco.
Cameron is survived by his his Mother and Dad and their new spouses Mark Harris and Cheryl Weatherford; his sisters Leia and Clarice and Natalie; brother Spencer; his sister Aprille, her husband Mickey also their three sons Joaquin, Jaden and Ethan.
All of his friends are invited to A Celebration of Cameron’s Life & Music to be held on Saturday, July 30th, 2011 at 1:00 pm at 1240 Dove Meadow Rd, Solvang.
