Ed was born June 13th, 1949, to Marion and Rollie Silveria, in Santa Barbara, and passed away suddenly and unexpectedly, on April 11, 2013.

Raised in Santa Barbara, he attended Harding Elementary and La Cumbre Junior High School. At Santa Barbara High School he participated in the high jump and pole vault for the track team. He served in the US Army, Company B, 3rd Battalion, 32nd Infantry in Korea for 2 years. He married Judy Allen on July 26th, l969, in Santa Barbara, where they have lived, worked and raised their family. He was known by many as “Little Eddie”, “Big Ed”, and then, eventually, the “Silver Fox”.

He worked for 40 years for Channel City Lumber Company. In his spare time he played softball for Mac’s Solar, Far West Guns and Dodge City. He was a member and regular at the SB Golf Club and had a hole in one at Glen Annie Golf Course.

Ed loved the outdoors and with his family and friends spent many happy times in Lake Tahoe, the June Lake Loop, the Colorado River and Northern California, where he enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Larger than life, Ed had a wonderful sense of humor, loved his family and friends, of which he had many. Judy and Ed loved to entertain their friends and Ed was in charge of the BarBQ. He also loved the Food Network Channel.

Ed is survived by his wife of 44 years, Judy, his son Travis Edward, his daughter Stacy Lynn Castelo, his granddaughters Caya and Desray Castelo, and his brother and sister in law, Jack and Cheryl Silveria.

Thank you to Pueblo del Rey Funeral Services for their caring assistance. In lieu of flowers, the family requests you consider a donation to a charity of your choice in Ed’s name.

A celebration of Ed’s life will be held at a later date.
