Mell Lazarus

“Mell Lazarus was a true cartooning legend,” (“Miss Peach” & “Momma”), but to us he was just Dad or Poppa, who was surrounded by a family of mutual love, respect, and appreciation. As he said, “We Lazaruses are a little like the Mafia: Once you’re in, you can never get out.” Until the very end, he had charm, dignity, and a sense of humor. He taught us to be true to ourselves, mindful of others, and always use good grammar.

Survived by his wife, Sally Mitchell Lazarus; SB family: Suesan Pawlitski (Garry); Briana Alexander Shieh (Dan) & infant, Declan; Tommy Alexander; Charlie Alexander; LA family: Herb & Shelley Lazarus; Margie L. White (David); Cathie Lazarus; Justin & Taylor White & Maddie; Cyndi & Dylan Carr; and those who miss him so much it hurts.
