She was courted by a young man Salvador Espinoza who later became her husband. Salvador Sr. was a “brazero” in the mid to late 40s and would often leave his family behind to come work in the fields all across the US to provide for his family until he finally immigrated his family to the US. They both made Santa Barbara their permanent home in 1957.

Rosita accompanied her husband moved to Santa Barbara, CA where in those days it was nothing but orange groves and the coastal town was a small community. She was a homemaker most of her life but one of her biggest joys in life were her birds. She would raise different types of birds and watch them grow up.
