Kimpton Canary Santa Barbara announced today the appointment of Sherrin Thomas as Director of Sales and Marketing. In her new role, Thomas will be responsible for developing and implementing sales and marketing strategy, overseeing the sales and events team, and extending divergent thinking methods for the 97-room luxury boutique Santa Barbara hotel.
With more than a decade of hospitality industry experience, Thomas brings an extensive background in sales and marketing, a deep knowledge and passion for the hospitality space, innovative management approach and a dedication to delivering the highest quality customer service to the hotel. Prior to joining the Canary, Thomas held the Associate Director of Sales position at The James New York – NoMad, where she oversaw all sales initiatives, including the rebranding and renovation of the property from The Carlton Hotel, Autograph Collection to The James brand. She previously held various sales and operational roles at W Hoboken, Westin Jersey City, Hyatt Regency Jersey City, Hyatt at Olive 8 and Park Hyatt Philadelphia, now known as Hyatt at The Bellevue.

Thomas holds a degree from Temple University in Psychology. A native of the East Coast, she has recently relocated to Santa Barbara from New York City. In her leisure time, she enjoys travelling to various exotic places, actively fundraising for charitable efforts, and creating memorable, bucket list-worthy experiences.
