A Room With a View
Rating: NR
Synopsis:
Scripted by Andrew Davies (PRIDE AND PREJUDICE, BRIDGET JONESS DIARY), E.M. Forsters classic story of love straining against class barriers is revisited in this sprightly new production. Young and precocious, Lucy Honeychurch lives and breathes within the suffocating confines of Edwardian social norms. During a trip to Italy, a stolen kiss with the handsome but unsuitable George Emerson ignites a curious, unrequited love. Facing a nosy chaperone, a rushed engagement to the suitable but dull Cecil, and her own repressed feelings, Lucy must choose between heart and duty when she again encounters George back in England. Adorned by the sensuous art and architecture of Florence and Rome, this new version of A ROOM WITH A VIEW is handsomely mounted and delights in Forsters playful comedy of manners.
