Roman De Gare

Rating: NR

Synopsis:
Judith Ralitzer, femme fatale and popular writer, is seeking characters for her next best seller. However, she discovers that her works may have been ghostwritten by a serial killer named Magician. Through radio reports, we learn that Magician has escaped from a high-security prison. The film zigzags back and forth in time, playfully toying with our notions of who these characters are and how they relate to one another. The plotting is elaborate as are the eye-catching locations along the French coast and countryside. The film allows the audience to understand that fate has a funny way of making friends and lovers out of the least likely of persons. Full of suspense and romance, this French thriller is a story within a story.
