In Loving Memory of Elwin O. Swint Jr. “WIN”
1946-1999

Nine years ago, in tribute to you, we quoted Euripides, “but still I wonder if ’tis he whenever a door creaks on its hinges.” Win, you were still missing at sea.

We stood waiting for you at the breakwater as we held your memorial. We expected you to swim up mad as the devil and call it off. Then on September 16, 1999, we learned you would not return to us.

We miss you, your opinion, your strength and your courage. You will always be loved and remembered by your son, Jason, sister, Mary, her husband Bruce, your confidante, Carmen and all of your many friends.

“What does it matter how long the lane and whether it twists and winds again, I’d travel it blithely the whole way through, were I sure at the end of finding you.”
