Cold Spring Tavern

Cold Spring Tavern

5995 Stagecoach Rd., Santa Barbara, 805-967-0066
American, Californian, San Marcos Pass
Average Meal Price: Delivery: No

Welcome to Cold Spring Tavern.

The Tavern was chosen as the BEST place for a Romantic Getaway
in California, but for whatever reason you choose to visit,
it will most certainly warm your heart.

The Cold Spring Tavern is located on highway 154, The San Marcos Pass, about a 15 or 20 minute drive from Santa Barbara, California. It is one of the few places where time travel is possible. You can drive 15 minutes and go back 130 years to a very romantic period in California history. It was the era of the stagecoach and the Cold Spring Tavern had a prominent role to play.

The San Marcos Pass has a very interesting history also. It was the route Gen. John C. Fremont took enroute to the capture of the city of Santa Barbara in 1848. It was the shortest route over the Santa Ynez Mountains from the north and very quickly became the preferred route of travel.

The Cold Spring Tavern was established in 1865 and has been serving great food and drink ever since. It is well known in Santa Barbara and has been featured on national television many times. Many motion picture and television stars have visited the tavern. You never know who you might be rubbing elbows with here. In any event the food is great and you will really enjoy your visit. Give us a call at 805 967 0066 for reservations.

At night the Tavern is pure MAGIC! Lamp-lit dining in the rustic setting around one of the four fireplace stirs the romantic soul and makes for an unforgetable evening. We didn't earn the title "Most Romantic Getaway" for
nothing.

Day or Night, a visit to Cold Spring is a refreshing experience. It takes you back in time and afterward you can go tackle the world again.
