Ventura-based attorney Brian Osborne is leveling one of the most
serious accusations made against Santa Barbara law enforcement
officers in recent history. Osborne announced this week he intends
to file a lawsuit against two CHP officers whom he alleges
accidentally pushed a SUV carrying three Santa Barbarans over the
edge of Loma Alta Road during a car chase. According to Osborne,
officers Kyle Arrellano and Michael Ramirez fled the scene without
calling for help that might have saved the life of driver Ismael
Flores, who died as a result of the crash. The CHP has denied the
accusations, saying the officers lost sight of the vehicle blocks
earlier and were unaware it had gone over the side of the road.
