Sierra Club Hikes

Thu May 31, 2007 | 12:00pm

Each weekend, members of the Sierra Club lead Santa Barbara residents along the hard-to-find pathways buried deep in our collective backyard. From casual beach walks to difficult treks through mountainous terrain, the summer hike schedule is chock-full of options for adventurers of all interests and abilities. The Tequepis Trail will be the destination this Saturday, June 2. A carpool will drop off hikers near Cachuma Lake Park for a strenuous 11-mile hike along the north side of the Santa Ynez Mountains. Call Paul at 964-9002 for time and meeting place. Or wait until Sunday, June 3, for a moderate 9-mile trek along Fish Creek. Hikers will meet behind the Bank of America at State Street and Hope Avenue at 9 a.m. Call Jim at 447-1876 for details.
