Dick about the Future

There was once a time when science fiction films were about being in the future as opposed to traveling to it. Since the advent of Back to the Future and Groundhog Day, American films have been riddled with brief flights into Tomorrowland or the fixable past: Donny Darko, Premonition, The Lake House, Minority Report, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, Meet the Robinsons, and Dej Vu to name a few.

Chalk One Up for TJ’s

You’re running late. You swing by the grocery store for a quick dinner, grab your items and wait in line, heart racing, frustration mounting. But then, as you look around, you notice all this really cool artwork, and your pulse begins to even out. Like the rest of their sister stores across the nation, each of the Santa Barbara-area Trader Joe’s employs local artists to create unique chalkboards and acrylic murals.
