Former Santa Barbara County Supervisor Susan Rose has teamed with former state Assemblymember Hannah-Beth Jackson and activist Cheryl Rogers to form the Santa Barbarans for Hillary election campaign committee, a grassroots organization dedicated to making New York Senator Hillary Clinton the next President of the United States.

The group, which already has more than 150 people on-board, will hold get-togethers, house parties, and table discussions throughout town, and will be working with the Los Angeles Hillary for President Headquarters and the state campaign office in San Francisco. “It’s about reaching out to individuals and getting them on board,” Rose said.

The group is hoping to bring the wife of former President Bill Clinton to Santa Barbara sometime before the February 5 primary, but plans are in the very preliminary stages, according to Rogers. “We’re very excited to see a qualified, woman candidate,” she said.

In the meantime, the group is looking for more members, more people to staff table locations throughout Santa Barbara, and more people to host parties on October 30 to watch the upcoming Democratic debate.
