Dermatoglyphics is the study of minuscule ridges and print patterns, whether on the finger or elsewhere on the skin of the hand.

Look right under your Apollo (ring) and Saturn (middle) fingers in the fleshy mount, right where the two fingers come together. Do you see a loop there?

Loops in this location – if you detect any – may mean that you need to start taking risks. They represent an unbridled propensity to speak out in defense of the defenseless, representing some karmic ability to draw done and mysteriously engage the help of some supportive entity.

If you display some loops in this position, some higher powers might come to assist you – that is, if you use your humanitarian tendencies to speak up for those people who are voiceless or somehow less empowered than you are.

A whorl or series of concentric circles between your Jupiter (pointer) and Saturn (middle) fingers on the other hand might indicate that you are refined. You take on family responsibilities. You might be a bodhisattva, placing other peoples’ happiness before your own – especially if those people are related to you. (Yes, this might be a sign of a good mother!) I advise readers to either check for this on themselves, when the kids are whining, for reassurance, or on the hand of a woman you are dating – if what you are really after is a devoted mother to your children.

Another indication to look for is a whorl between your Apollo (ring) and Mercury (little) finger. Such a sign means you might have a cruel sense of humor. You might say things that are funny to you, but actually quite hurtful to other people. If you have one of these whorls, by all means, keep your hands in your pockets during a job interview!
