Ghetto Youths International’s Gang War Rhythm: The rough ‘n’ rugged rude boy collective founded by the Marley brothers known as Ghetto Youths just dropped this dancehall collaboration, featuring Damian Marley, Elephant Man, Bounty Killer, Jagwa, and other rising stars. It’s hard enough to satisfy the toughest b-boys but rhythmic enough to appease traditional reggae lovers, too.

Teen Concert at Courthouse

For the second weekend in a row, the 805 Summer Mix concert series at the Santa Barbara County Courthouse is in full swing on Saturday, August 25, from noon-6 p.m. While last weekend featured hip-hop, this Saturday’s focus is more alt-rock, with performances from Terminal, Kissing Tigers, Blu, and the Henry Clay People. Chipotle Selling Hillside Tix

The fifth annual Ventura Hillsides Music Festival-to benefit the Ventura Hillside Conservancy-is going down on Sunday, September 30, at Arroyo Verde Park with performances by Toots and the Maytals, Jack Johnson, the Robert Cray Band, and Chris Pierce. Although the show is already sold out, Chipotle Mexican Grill is selling tickets on Friday, September 14.

A Tribute to the Musical

Tragedy can lead to inspiration, as is the case with Patricia Henley, who won a precedent-setting legal battle with Philip Morris by suing them when she contracted cancer after 35 years of smoking. Now living cancer-free, Henley has created the Patricia Henley Foundation, which sponsors the Theatre of Life for Children, the organization behind A Tribute to the Musical.

DA Investigating Two Men in Zaca Fire

The Santa Barbara County District Attorney’s office will issue a statement within the next week as to whether or not charges will be filed against the two men responsible for igniting the Zaca Fire.
