Summer Solstice Artistic Director Riccardo Morrison Gets Ready to Roll

A sunny Sunday afternoon, three weeks before the big parade, and already Riccardo Morrison was rocking in the Solstice maelstrom. The fence around the new headquarters on Garden and Ortega needs a contractor. Plywood is piling up. Worst of all, there’s a giant unintentional obscenity issue in the middle of a half-built float.

• UCSB’s final Junior Wheelchair Sports Camp takes place July 10-July 14 and 130 volunteers are needed to help run the program. The camp provides opportunities for disabled youth to participate in competitive sports and requires an eight-hour-per-day commitment from volunteers. Call 893-4114 for info.
