Source code of Westmont College’s website was recently sabotaged when a Canadian pharmaceutical company exploited vulnerability in the site’s web publishing software-WordPress-in an attempt to “artificially increase” its own Google ranking.

Parade Volunteers Needed

Homeland Security Adviser Lee Hamilton on Iraq, Iran, and Pakistan

Lee Hamilton has one of the most interesting and impressive resumes in Washington. A former Democratic congressmember from Indiana, he was the vice chair of the 9/11 Commission and co-chaired the Iraq Study Group (also known as the Baker-Hamilton Commission). He is now the director of the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars in Washington, D.C. We recently spoke by telephone.

Airplane Crash in Santa Maria

Holiday airport traffic at Santa Maria Airport was slowed on 11/22 when a small, twin-engine Beechcraft plane made a crash landing at the airport just before 10:30 a.m.

Point and Shoot

The University Religious Conference of Santa Barbara is sponsoring a photo competition to celebrate its 50th anniversary. Camera-wielders 18 years and older are invited to snap a shot that answers the question, “What’s sacred?” Rules and entry forms are available online at urcsb.org/photocontest. Awards include cash, prizes, and a chance to take part in an exhibit at the University Religious Center in Isla Vista. The deadline for submissions is midnight on Saturday, December 15.
