Doreen Farr, 3rd District Supervisor candidate, received the endorsement of the Santa Barbara County Firefighters union, which represents more than 220 firefighters in Santa Barbara County. Citing her experience as a planning commissioner, consultant and businesswoman, the union will be supporting Farr with more than just their name added to a list of her supporters. The union will also be contributing cash donations to her campaign coffers.
“Doreen impressed our executive board with her knowledge of the importance of disaster preparedness,” said president Rob Heckman in a statement. “As someone who was evacuated twice for fires while living in Santa Barbara County, Doreen will bring real life experience when making land use decisions that impact public safety. Her commitment to public safety, disaster planning, combined with her deep roots in the community made her the obvious choice to our members.”
Farr is vying for the 3rd District Candidate spot along with four other candidates. The election is June 3.
