This debut effort from San Diego’s The Feelings Mutual shines with bright pop-rock melodies-even though all of the band members resemble scruffy folksters. The five songs on this EP are catchy, fun, and easy to sing along to, making The Feelings Mutual stand out from their contemporary mainstreamers. These upbeat songs, with their snappy titles, simple lyrics, and the addition of somewhat average-looking guys singing them does not quite give the whole story of the EP here. There are also moments of hard rock and even techno. With some fine tuning of the vocal component, The Feelings Mutual could be headed straight for stardom.
