Union Reaches Agreement with National Medical Transport Corporation

The nationwide medical transport corporation American Medical Response, Inc. (AMR), announced on Friday, September 19, that it had reached an agreement with the International Association of EMTs and Paramedics regarding the latter’s contracts. Thus, the 94 AMR employees who provide medical transport services throughout Santa Barbara County will not be going on strike on Tuesday, September 23, as was previously planned.

The new contract with AMR includes a 13 percent raise over the next three years, retroactive increases going back to July 2008, annual cost of living adjustments, and a benefits package that includes such perks as health, dental, and vision insurance.
