CHP Investigates Two Morning Accidents on Highway 154

Motorists Reminded to Drive More Slowly During Rainy Conditions

On Friday, June 5, the Santa Barbara County Fire Department responded to two separate vehicle accidents on Highway 154.

The first, which occurred about a half-mile north of San Antonio Creek Road, involved four vehicles and necessitated the arrival of a county fire engine and ladder truck. A 48-year-old man was transported to the hospital for treatment of moderate injuries.

The second accident occurred a quarter-mile south of Painted Cave Road, in the Windy Gap area. A county fire engine and battalion chief as well as an am ambulance and Sheriff’s and CHP emergency vehicles arrived at the scene of the two-car collision. The Jaws of Life were employed to extricate one passenger, and a 60-year-old woman was taken to the hospital for treatment of moderate injuries.

The CHP is still investigating both accidents.
