Southbound 101 Commuters Warned of Ventura Fire

Blaze Reported to Have Grown Considerably South of Carp

Word from county spokesperson William Boyer came through at 3:49 p.m. today that those attempting to commute on the southbound 101 may expect problems getting through, as a fire at Solimar Beach has grown considerably since first being reported this afternoon. Boyer claimed it has reached 50 acres. The location of the fire is approximately 3055 Pacific Coast Highway, between Carpinteria and Ventura though closer to the latter. It is in Ventura County.

A story on this blaze reported by the Ventura County Star at 3:41 p.m. noted the fire as being between 15 and 40 acres.
