Caught in Middle

I called the County Registrar of Voters to find out why I hadn’t gotten my ballot yet. They pulled me up on their computer and said that it’s a city election, not county, and to call the city. I called the city and was informed that [the 4500 block of] Hollister is in an unincorporated area and therefore I cannot vote for a mayor in Santa Barbara or Goleta. I called County Supervisor Janet Wolf’s office and Santa Barbara Mayor Marty Blum’s office to be told the same thing. I was also told that I could always move. Suppose the Target-coming-to Santa Barbara issue goes to a vote by the good citizens of our cities, but my neighbors and I cannot vote? This just is not right. It needs to be fixed. – Caroline McElroy
