Small Fire at Cleveland School

Santa Barbara Fire investigators are looking into the cause of an early morning fire at Cleveland Elementary School today which was contained to one classroom.

The fire broke out just after 5 a.m. Three engines, a ladder truck, and a battalion chief immediately responded to the school, located at 123 Alameda Padre Serra. The fire was on the outside of classroom 8, at the rear of the campus, and was extending into the room.

The fire was quickly knocked down, and the school was open today, as the damage was contained to a small area, according to fire officials.
