TRAVELIN’ MEN: Indy news reporter Ethan Stewart (right), who penned this week’s cover story on the insurance woes faced by those trying to rebuild their homes after the Tea and Jesusita fires, hopped on a Denmark-bound plane yesterday with photographer friend and Big Sur native Kodiak Greenwood. The pair, who also rode trains cross-country to cover the inauguration of President Obama, today will start filing online reports from the ongoing climate conference in Copenhagen. “It seems like the next big potential global moment,” said Stewart, who will be covering the official proceedings as well as Santa Barbara angles and the expected protests, which range from shutting down the harbor to flooding the streets with bicycles. “It’s also a page-turner in our history. The U.S. is such a big part of the modern world that if we don’t step up and start doing something now, how can we expect anyone else to?” To keep track, check out independent.com/climate.
