Volunteer Departments Help County Firefighters

A car-carrier truck that had been towing four vehicles was completely destroyed by fire by the time firefighters were able to extinguish the fire on Highway 154 near Camino Cielo.

Aided by the Painted Cave and San Marcos Pass Volunteer Fire Departments, Santa Barbara County firefighters were able to save the four vehicles being towed by the carrier.

The cause of the fire, which firefighters responded to at about 9:20 p.m., Thursday, January 7, is still under investigation. There were no injuries.
