Robot Zoo Exhibit Opens at Natural History Museum

This week, don’t miss the opening of the S.B. Museum of Natural History’s larger-than-life exhibition The Robot Zoo. The show features three life-sized animated robot animals—a chameleon, fly, and platypus—whose bodies are made of pistons (muscles), filtering pies (intestines), and computers (brains), representing the biomechanics of complex animal body systems. The exhibit’s opening reception will be held Saturday, May 8, from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. in the museum’s Luria Hall (2559 Puesta del Sol Rd.); admission is $6-$10. Call 962-6316 for more info.
