Wheel Fun Tours to the Old Mission

Mon Jul 26, 2010 | 12:00pm

These warm summer days encourage outdoor activity. One way to enjoy the weather and see the sites is by renting a wheeled vehicle to ride around town. If you’d like to learn about the history of our wee burgh, consider taking Wheel Fun’s “Bike to the Mission” guided tour. The hour-and-a-half ride takes you past Spanish Colonial Revival architecture, views of the Pacific, and stops at Stearns Wharf, El Presidio, the Courthouse, the Lobero and Arlington theaters, the giant Moreton Bay Fig Tree, and, of course, the Old Mission. Guided tours include bicycle, bottle of water, route map, points of interest, history, and helmet. The seven-mile roundtrip ride is easy/moderate. Tours start at Wheel Fun, 22 State Street.
