Starry skies and the evening night are the main events at Star Party, held every second Saturday of the month at the S.B. Museum of Natural History’s Palmer Observatory (2559 Puesta del Sol Rd.).

With high- powered telescopes, experts from the S.B. Astronomical Unit group will guide star-gazers through a look at a wide-open night sky, followed by family-friendly evening planetarium shows.

This month’s Star Party begins at 7 p.m. on Saturday, August 14. Admission is $2 for adults and $1 for children. Call 682-4711 for more info.
