DESIGNING WOMAN: Recently, the editorial design staff grew by one when Chelsea Lyon was hired to the team that creates The Indy’s weekly layout. Born and raised in Santa Barbara, she spent years away from our wee town earning her degree in Graphic Communication at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and studying abroad in Tokyo, Japan. When she’s not at The Independent offices helping to get the paper out, you can find her at music venues checking out rock bands such as A Perfect Circle, which she recently popped down to L.A. to see.
