One year ago, Chris Potter quit his day job to become a full-time artist. He embarked on a mission to finish one painting each day, five days a week for a year. He did.

Potter will exhibit 75 of his 250 completed paintings — a collection called “Postcards from Santa Barbara” — at his art show from 1 to 6 p.m. on December 5 at 511 East Anapamu St, Unit D.

Potter’s paintings are mostly oil, with “a couple of random acrylics in there,” he said. “Postcards” primarily includes beach and mountain landscapes, with some scenes from the streets of downtown Santa Barbara.

The show will have “plenty of works priced affordably so they can be bought as Christmas gifts,” he said. A few paintings will be up for silent auction, while one will be raffled.

The art show will have beer, wine, and appetizers provided by Local Harvest Delivery. Tequila tasting and live music will also be featured, Potter said.
