Wass and Overpopulation

I moved to Washington state 10 years ago. I worked many years with David Wass and I am so sorry that he has passed away. I loved Dave’s laugh and his great sense of humor, especially when he was talking about his own shortcomings. His long-comings, however, were much greater than his shortcomings.

I met Dave when I was volunteering as treasurer for the Audubon Society. I kept the books, filed the tax returns, and kept the seedlings for urban creek restoration watered in my backyard. I also worked with Dave on helping folks to understand that over-population causes the greatest negative environmental impact of all. He knew it for sure.

Folks in Santa Barbara do not like to discuss the reason for over-population because it is politically incorrect but Dave spoke the truth. California is on a terrible over-population course which is driven by over immigration.

Immigration is optional. Americans can choose not to over populate our country. If you talked to Dave, he would tell you that because he did not deviate from the truth.
