As If

It is amazing how well the Republicans stay “on message.” It is as if corporate-funded think tanks are churning out talking points to be recycled through the corporate media.

Now that too-big-to-fail multinational corporations have outsourced most of the decent paying manufacturing jobs to cheaper locations, the next target for downsizing America’s middle class is public unions. Defunding government at all levels through massive tax cuts prevents the delivery of public services. The financial and corporate interests who have helped create this crisis are now positioned to take advantage of it.

It does seem that at some point, no matter how much money is put into this effort, there will be a push back by the American people. (Perhaps it has already begun based on what we see in Madison, Wisconsin.) Again I wonder how it is that a people with democratic aspirations tolerates hierarchical, authoritarian entities—corporations—having the same rights as flesh and blood people.
