Santa Paula Man Wins Grand Prize in Santa Barbara Million Dollar Home Raffle

The Santa Barbara Contemporary Arts Forum (CAF) is pleased to announce that Richard Dominguez of Santa Paula has won the Santa Barbara Million Dollar Home Raffle’s Grand Prize, a Santa Barbara home or $1 million in cash, winner’s choice. Richard’s ticket was pulled at the Grand Prize drawing on Sunday, May 22 at Alameda Park.

“Congratulations to our newest million dollar winner, we’re very excited for you!” remarked Carolyn Glasoe, Board President of CAF, who reached the winner by cell from the park right after she pulled his ticket. Richard Dominguez, an Operating Engineer, Local Union 12, works for Rasmussen Construction. His wife Linda is a Santa Paula school teacher. Of the seven CAF raffles held, Richard is the 4th Tri County grand prize-winner, with previous winners hailing from Carpinteria, San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara. When asked if he would take the home or the $1 million in cash, Mr. Dominguez said: “for right now, I just want to enjoy the moment!”

Other top prize winners included Steve and Judy Wolf of Calabasas, who won the top Multi Ticket prize: a new Toyota Prius or $20,000, Kimberly Beaven and Shari Schubot, of Santa Barbara, who each won $10,000 in the Refer a Friend Drawing, Darrell and Lynda Bass of Santa Barbara who won $10,000 in the Main Draw and Troy Meeker of Ventura who won $10,000 or a luxury Montecito Beach Home Vacation in the Multi Ticket drawing. More prizes given away included $5,000, several $1,000 prizes & Apple 32 GB iPads, as well as Penthouse stay at Ojai Valley Inn and Spa.

“We’re grateful to all who have purchased tickets in the home raffle,” added Miki Garcia, CAF’s Executive Director. “CAF is celebrating its 35th year and the monies raised will allow us to continue educating, exhibiting and cultivating the arts of our time. Special thanks to all of our sponsors and partner Village Properties and their non-profit Teachers’ Fund.”
