Mahal—a composer, instrumentalist, and vocalist—infuses the Trio’s bluesy rhythms with his highly skilled banjo, piano, and guitar melodies. These signature sounds have earned Mahal high ranks in the blues world; the artist has been credited with broadening the genre’s spectrum by incorporating world influences and sounds from global cultures into traditional American blues.
