CARING FOR KENYA’S KIDS: The Indy‘s roving special education correspondent Brent Elder—who teaches at Kellogg School in Goleta during the school year—is currently in Western Kenya to help teachers, students, and families better integrate and educate kids with disabilities. Seen here at Lambwe School for the Deaf, Elder reports, “I wanted to start the next school year with a refreshed perspective about what it means to support people with disabilities, and I wanted to see how people with so little can do so much. Kenya was the perfect solution.” Follow his progress at independent.com/kenya.
