Pet House and Second Chance Rescue are hosting their annual holiday dog and cat adoption event this Saturday, December 10, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Calle Real Shopping Center in Goleta.
Second Chance is a volunteer-based rescue organization that works tirelessly to find good homes for local cats and cocker spaniels in need. Cold Noses Warm Hearts and K-9 Pals will also be involved with Saturday’s event.
“During the holidays, a lot of people look to add to their family, and of course adopting is a great way to do that,” said Elizabeth Mazzetti with Second Chance. The main focus of the event is the dog and cat adoptions. Mazzetti expects 15 to 20 dogs who need homes to be there, as well as tons of kittens.
In addition to adoptions, there will also be a bake sale, artwork, jewelry, gift baskets, and various items for cats and dogs for sale. All proceeds go to rescue efforts.
